An unaccompanied minor is a child not younger than five (5) years and not older than fourteen (14) years of age traveling alone.
Bahamasair will facilitate an unaccompanied minor on its flights under the following conditions:
- The unaccompanied minor is presented to Bahamasair check in counter by the parent or legal guardian with proof of custody where applicable.
- The parent or legal guardian must complete the attached Unaccompanied Advice Form in full including telephone contacts of the parent and the person collecting the minor.
- Pay the applicable fee for the service provided.
Fees
- International Flights: USD50 per sector
- Domestic Flights (Within the Bahamas): USD$25 per sector
Process:
Bahamasair customer service agent(s) will ensure that the unaccompanied minor is in the care of the Senior Flight Attendant during travel. The Senior Flight Attendant will escort the unaccompanied minor off the aircraft and through any airport clearance procedures and then deliver the minor to the designated awaiting person identified on the form.
It should be noted that Bahamasair will not accommodate an unaccompanied minor on any of its last flight of the day from any given destination in an effort to avoid the risk of being responsible for the minor after work hours.
